Blog-Post Assessment

My favorite fast food restaurant is Applebees. The iconic restaurant is located in a variety of places like; Passaic, Hackensack, Secaucus, and up to 2,000 other locations. Applebee's originated in Decatur, Georgia and eventually grew into a popular restaurant with widespread locations.

Applebee's provides an extensive variety of meals on their popular menu. The menu provides options from lunch combos and fresh salads to hand held foods and healthier selections. My personal favorite dish from Applebee's is the classic American Standard with delicious fries on the side. Whenever I go to Applebee's and if all else fails, this iconic dish will always be my go-to meal.
Like many other restaurants, Applebee's has a history. In 1980 Bill and TJ Palmer first open Applebee's in Atlanta, Georgia, and three years later the Palmers sell the Applebee's concept to W.R. Grace and Company; Bill Palmer becomes and Applebee's franchisee in 1985. Only a year later the name is changed to Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Abe Gustin and John Hamra open their first Applebee's restaurant in Kansas City. In 1988 Abe Gustin and John Hamra purchase the rights to the Applebee's concept from W.R. Grace and Company. Finally, Applebee's international releases a public offering of common stock. Applebee's 100th restaurant is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Applebee's is my favorite restaurant because of it's delicious meals and cozy setting. The service provided at most Applebee's location is almost always superb, and there is always an Applebee's location near. If Applebee's closed down, I don't know what I'd do! If I had to choose another restaurant in replacement; I'd choose Panera Bread.

Although Panera Bread does not come close to replacing Applebee's, it would be enough to satisfy my needs.

Panera Bread provides an excellent variety of dishes in their popular menu and also has a cozy setting. For now, I am only hoping that Applebee's never shuts down.
